It is the intent of JHS to hire the best person available for any job vacancy in order to ensure that it has the staffing available to deliver the mandated services of the organization and fulfill the deliverables of funding contracts. To this end, JHS will follow generally accepted practices while abiding by the relevant legislation (i.e. Employment Standards, Bill of Rights, Employment Equity). This applies to full-time, part-time, and contract positions and will also apply to decisions pertaining to promotions and training. The Executive Director reserves the right to waive the job-posting requirement if an internal transfer is not appropriate.
All vacant positions will be advertised internally in the Agency for a reasonable period of time. Positions will then be posted externally if a suitable candidate cannot be recruited. With approval from the Executive Director, a position can be posted internal/external simultaneously.
